Jazzmine Curtis
Jazzmine Curtis is a ceramic artist based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her work explores ancestral memory, identity, and the power of storytelling through clay. A self-taught artist shaped by community and collaboration, she has developed her practice outside of academic institutions, growing through mentorship and grassroots learning, particularly as a member of The Bottom’s Ceramic Soul Collective.
Jazzmine makes figurative vessels, or spirit heads, often incorporating custom glazes, resists, and her own intuitive script. These mark-making practices emerge from a desire to hold space for what has been forgotten, erased, or passed down in fragments.
